KSU Wireline Spiral Spear

Application

KSU spiral wireline spear retrieves well-logging wireline, electric cable, wire-rope, slickline during remediation in a cased hole.

Design

The spear is a single-piece helical grapple in the form of a corkscrew. The corkscrew is integral with the sub, having thread for connecting to the pipe string at the top. The corkscrew is made of heat-treated alloy steel. Each turn of the spiral has a catch, that precludes slip-off of the wireline during retrieval.
